In the shaken silence after Baba’s fall, Namta is gone. Ja’ms, Julius, and Elora find no useful tracks through the churned soil and lingering fog, while Julius’s Vistani remembrance book produces a far worse clue: Namta’s image is fading from a page showing the whole party. As the others search and argue over whether she left willingly, Namta is pulled through fragments of her past: fleeing under a false name with Thorwyn, defending Dick from cruel orc children, and eventually discovering Thorwyn had squandered the family fortune while lying to her for years. Back at the winery, Davion, Adrian, and Stefania arrive as wereravens, reclaim the dangerously hot gemseed, and reveal their family’s secret resistance network, the Keepers of the Feathers. They promise to search from the air if the party carries a coded feather-message to their allies in Vallaki. Elora then uncovers five command circles hidden in Baba’s house; activating one sends the chicken-legged house east toward Mount Ghaakis before it stops. With no trail to follow, the battered party sleeps inside the hag’s house, waking still one friend short.

Major Events
Namta Fades From the Page
The party’s immediate search for Namta went nowhere. Ja’ms called for her through the fog, Julius searched the ruined battlefield, and Elora’s sharp investigation found only where Namta had fallen, not where she had gone. The poison cloud had scattered dirt and erased any meaningful trail. Spike was awake but too exhausted to track, though Ja’ms’s apology earned him a wary nuzzle. Julius then stuffed Dick’s fallen feathers into the Vistani remembrance book, hoping to create a lead; instead, the feathers became a grotesque smiling portrait of the injured familiar. When a blank page slipped free, it showed the party together with Namta disappearing from the bottom up. Elora rejected the easy explanation that Namta had simply stormed off, arguing that Baba’s illusions might have staged the farewell or taken her outright. The book’s living map showed only the party’s single dot, offering no separate mark for Namta at all.
Memories of a Stolen Childhood
As Namta faded from the group’s page, she relived pieces of the life that shaped her. As a child, she traveled through the forest with Thorwyn, who insisted she abandon her old name and accept Namta for her own safety. He gave her the little bird doll that would become Dick’s likeness, then frightened her by producing both its burned remains and a real bird after she lost control of her fire magic. Years later in the mostly orcish town of Negmesh, a boy named Jask pretended friendship, lured her into the woods, and handed her to children who wanted to kill the “devil.” Namta answered with blazing eyes, thunderous magic, and Dick attacking Jask’s eye. In a later memory, adult Namta found Thorwyn sick and surrounded by hidden jewels and old coins. He admitted he had known where the family fortune was, spent most of it, and lied to her for years. After failing to heal him, Namta left him behind and sought a tavern stage instead.
The Keepers Take Flight
Three giant birds descended through the overcast sky and transformed into Davion Martikov, Adrian, and Stefania. Their arrival coincided with Julius recklessly lifting the gemseed from Baba’s still-boiling cauldron; the object burned his hands until Elora shot it free with a carefully aimed arrow. Once it hit the ground, the gemseed cooled and began drawing dirt, vines, and seedlings around itself. Davion reclaimed it as the winery’s stolen seed, while Elora confronted Adrian with the truth that his supposed turtle fiancée had been part of Baba’s deception. Davion then revealed that the Martikovs are wereravens and members of the Keepers of the Feathers, a quiet Barovian resistance against the Devil. They promised food, wine, water, flaming scabbards, and an aerial search for Namta. In exchange, the party agreed to take a spinning coded feather to their allies at the Vallaki inn; Ja’ms recognized its Dwarvish message as a familial declaration of kinship.
A House Walks East
Rather than surrender the search, Elora combed Baba’s house for magical traces and found five elaborate circles hidden behind a shelf. Her investigation uncovered markings akin to a transportation circle, but Azareal’s Arcana revealed their stranger purpose: they commanded the house itself to walk. The circles included directional instructions and a central command to stop. The worn circle Elora touched bore the word “Ghaakis,” naming the southern mountain, and the house immediately warmed, rose onto its chicken legs, and strode east toward the forest. Elora dragged Azareal over to help decipher the controls, taking his drink before demanding answers; he identified the celestial instruction to walk and the hidden destination. Julius’s book map showed the party moving east with the house, but still no sign of Namta. After a short journey, the house stopped and settled back to ground level. The exhausted party chose to remain together in the former hag’s home rather than split up again, keeping watch as best they could before finally taking a full long rest.
